About this organisation

Our research network in Human Communication has been set up to initiate, promote and maintain inter-disciplinary research around the research theme of Communication and Communication Technology.  We offer:

What is Human Communication?

Communication is about sharing and exchanging information. We all do it, but the ways in which we do it may vary. Therefore the Collaborative Research Network (CRN) in Human Communication includes the full gamut of research areas starting from disciplines focusing more on ‘communication’, such as:

  • English and modern languages
  • Textual analysis
  • Philosophy of communication
  • Sign language and acousmatics
  • Portable Computing
  • Microwave Technology
  • Computational Linguistics
  • Speech Recognition,
  • natural language processing,
  • e-learning, and human-computer interfaces.
