Phone: 0121 331 5000 Category: About this organisationThe digital world has enabled citizens and societies worldwide to stay connected in the world of work and socially, thanks to the rapid developments in technology. The Government's strategic vision outlined in the 2009 Carter Report aims to ensure that the UK leads the way in the global digital economy and to be the most innovative in the creative and media industries. The Institute for Digital Experience and Applications (IDEAs) forms a multi-disciplinary, intra-university research group to establish and support research in the development and application of digital technologies in the University’s established subject domains. IDEAs pursues research through three broad themes: "Technology & Interactivity"; "Content & Creativity" and "Digital Development & Applications". Activities includes identification and exploration of new models for application, experience and critical assessment of technology, the development of new technologies to ‘near-market’ stage, support for commercialisation and broad application of research and the ultimate integration of technology development and technological support with research processes in general. |
